Ugly Sweaters is the musical musings of couple Mandla and Claire Daley, Alex Pfender and Ian Meltzer. Growing up in rural South Africa and Zimbabwe, Mandla spent his childhood listening to mix tapes of the likes of Squeeze/Blondie/Paul Simon sent over by his uncle, alongside Zulu church music and reggae. When Mandla moved to Melbourne, Australia for high school he taught himself how to play guitar and started recording home demos. Now based in Los Angeles, Ugly Sweaters brings a global flavor to the local L.A. scene. With indulgent harmonies, frenetic performances and chaotic musicality Ugly Sweaters have branded the Los Angeles musical circuit with a unique genre-blend of Caffeine Pop-Punk-Rock.
