Sober Rob began playing the viola when he was eight years old. The sheet music and chin-rests have been traded in for Moog synths and KRK’s, but elements of his classical background still course through his hyper-futuristic production style. His idiosyncratic sound design and composition is already not-so-quietly disrupting a scene that imbibes ‘what’s hot’ by allowing his audience to experience elements of the next wave before it arrives. The more that he develops, the more that Rob continues to set an example for how limitless the possibilities of musical expression actually are.
